I hope you are all have a very LOVE-ly day!
Here is some heart love from our day today...
I got up early this morning to make heart shaped doughnuts.
And if you make heart shaped doughnuts you get heart shaped doughnut holes. Yum. The "holes" are my favorite.
I got the recipe from the Pioneer Woman...see this post here for links to the recipe.
We tried to make it at least slightly healthy with a strawberry banana shake but still had a major sugar high afterward. Good thing I only make these a few times per year.
Then we wrapped a couple of them up for some friends in these cool window origami boxes that Lorajean from Lorajean's Magazine shows you how to make here. They are SOOOOO fun to make. I want to make them for every occasion!
I made this one heart shaped.
For dinner we had some of the foods our family loves {most of these pictures are not from today because I was running out of light, time, and energy}:
Pumpkin soup. I made it from canned pumpkin this time. Not as good as fresh but still delicious.
Artichokes - which have hearts...bonus.
steak, potatoes, and we didn't really have room or time for dessert. We were stuffed. So we just let the kids munch on Valentine candy and called it good.
For our beverage I experimented a little. I made Jello Jigglers and plopped them into a tall glass of 7-UP.
It actually turned out really well! The little heart shaped Jigglers jumped and danced around in all the fizz continuously for about 5 minutes. It became our beverage and entertainment in one!
The jigglers didn't even dissolve right away like I thought they might. When one got caught in our straws we slurped them right up. My boys had a blast. So much so that we eventually had to take them away so they would eat their dinner!
We are definitely repeating this one for more holidays.{Plus it is waaaay cheaper than buying a bottle of Martinelli's :) }
On a heavier note, in the middle of the day I got into a pretty bad car accident. The whole front of our car is completely smashed and the car is definitely totaled. I entered an intersection just as someone ran a stop sign. Pretty unlucky. But...everyone, us and the other people are okay. Kind of a miracle. And everyone was so nice, the other people in the accident, witnesses to the accident, law enforcement, everyone. As far as accidents go, it turned out the best it could have. Still... I think I need a break from blogging for a bit. Hope you understand.
See you around! Thank you for all of you sweet comments and thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog.

And very scary about the accident. I'm glad you weren't injured. I get shakey and flustered after close calls, I can imagine you'd need some time to recover from something serious.
Glad to hear that you're alright. Take care.

Delia, So glad you are all OK! Dang, that's scary!!!
As for the fist part of your post...girl, you are amazing! You MADE heart shaped donuts for Valentine's day? I'd have felt like I accomplished something if I'd taken Maddie out to DD to BUY one on V-Day. Love the idea for jello jigglers in the 7-up. I'll have to try that if I can find someplace that sells jello jigglers already made too!
